About Ron Gaunt: Ron Gaunt has lived and worked with
dogs the majority of his life. Ron began working with dogs and training
for police work in 1970. He has trained, worked and managed service dogs
for more than 30 years consecutively. During Rons 12-year tenure
in the K9 unit with the Inglewood Police Department, he had the honor
of working with three different K9 partners. Among Rons many accomplishments
are multiple national certifications in detection, both explosives and
narcotics. Along with many years of training detection dogs, Ron has trained
hundreds of dogs for police work encompassing all aspects of K9 police
work. One of Rons many accomplishments was that of Master Trainer.
In 1981 Ron was the K-9 Program Director with the Inglewood Police Department
and the training director of the Los Angeles Schutzhund Club.

Fischbach received a Legislative Citation, a Juneau City and Borough
Resolution and recognition from the Governor for work with the Canine
Good Citizen program and responsible dog ownership. |

Therapy Dogs:
In the early 1990's, Martha Fischbach, worked with a few other dedicated
Juneauites, and was instrumental in getting a Therapy Dog program instituted
in Juneau. Martha's dogs, Callie (Certified with Therapy Dogs International
and Therapy Dogs Incorporated) and Peter (Certified with Therapy Dogs
International) did visitations and made appearances, from Juneau Pioneer
Home to the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon, Juneau Christian School to Cub
Scout troop.
Ms. Fischbach and her dogs Callie and
Peter also received national awards, for their numerous achievements and
outstanding community service.
Martha graduated from the University of
Minnesota, Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Recreation, Therapeutic concentration,
Nursery School teaching certification and a strong Psychology, Studio
Arts and Dance background.
